New up for sale is this stunning 000 guitar with 14 frets to the body. Completely handmade in our Berkshire workshop, all of this guitar’s sizing and measurements have been taken precisely from one of the finest pre-war Martins we have seen; repaired in the workshop during 2015.

As with all Dave’s guitars, this has a deep resonant bass response with endless sustain. And whilst the sound is even across the entire register, the mid range is worthy of particular note, with some beautiful, complex overtones and harmonic sounds.

The wood used on this guitar is some of the finest in our stock. The top is Engelmann spruce and the back and sides are from beautifully grained African Blackwood, believed by many luthiers to be tonally one of the closest available alternatives to Brazilian Rosewood.

The guitar has a number of tasteful appointments. These include a carved pyramid bridge, solid abalone (not reconstituted!) rosette, stunning flamed Koa binding which extends to the fretboard edges and is arranged into a ‘V’ inlay around the tail pin and Schaller ‘Grand Tune’ Ruthenium machine heads with ebony buttons.

Soundboard bracing is with full hide glue construction.
